The 2024 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine was awarded to Professor Victor Ambros of the University of Massachusetts and Professor Gary Ravkun of Harvard University for their significant contributions to the study of microRNAs.
This award is great news for us as it proves that microRNA, a small RNA, regulates gene expression and shows great potential for the prevention and treatment of diseases.
We are committed to the development of innovative therapeutics utilizing microRNAs and believe that progress in this area will make a significant contribution to human health.
Recent research and development of microRNA-based therapeutics is expected to be applied to a variety of intractable diseases such as cancer, cardiovascular diseases, and neurodegenerative disorders.
Going forward, we will continue our drug discovery research with the goal of commercializing microRNA-based therapeutics.
